I wish I'd been thoroughly educated on the value of one's credit history, how to properly build it, what you need it for, and avoiding predatory lending and identity theft. Nobody told me anything about it as a young adult, and now I'm trying to repair mine... it's very, very hard.

Ooh, that's a good one. I was lucky- my parents figured their job was to turn out a reasonably self-sufficent adult, so I had to learn about this stuff. Boring at the time but now I'm SO grateful.
