I went to see my internist last month. Everything is fine, though he wants me to start tapering off one of my prescription meds. I dutifully start doing so, adjusting as necessary. I call in for a refill. He's apparently decided I can't have that med any more. At all. Along with my migraine meds, which is just ducky as I'm in mid-migraine. So much for the Hippocratic Oath. He never mentioned a problem with the migraine meds when I saw him three weeks ago. I now have to go in to see him again, spending more money, because he's high-handedly decided I can't have meds I've been taking for twenty plus years because- I don't know why, since he hasn't explained!

I'm getting a new doctor. This isn't the first problem I've had with him, but I'm damned if it's not going to be the last.

Yikes, that seems like such a rash decision on the internist's behalf. I hope you find a more understanding doctor.

I've already contacted two other doctors- both women- and hope to get in with at least one of them. (One's family practice, the other is also an internist.)
